The shop has sold coffee from 52 Old Compton Street since 1887, which makes it older than almost everything else on the street including the street's reputation, and the Crocetta family — in since the 1940s — still runs it: sisters Marisa and Daniela joined the company's board in 2022 as the third generation, their Neapolitan-born father Paul still calling in. Around eighty coffees and a hundred and twenty teas line the shelves in the old manner, weighed and bagged over the counter, and the takeaway espresso at the till has long been among the cheapest and best in the West End. Soho loses something monthly; this it has kept for fourteen decades.
