Angus Alchemy distils gin, rum and moonshine on the A92 just north of Carnoustie, on a site converted in 2021 from a former caravan sales lot. Founders Colin Cameron, Phil Paton and Martin Brown run two stills, Gus and Ann, and carry out all of the distilling, labelling and bottling on the premises, heated by a bio-boiler fed with local wood chips. The distillery is set up for visitors, with tasting experiences ranging from the Alchemist flight to an Angus-focused local tasting and the Albannach, all led by the people who make the spirits. It is an independent, single-site business rather than part of a larger drinks group, open through the week with tastings bookable outside standard hours. The prohibition-era styling is a nod to the moonshine end of the range.
