ASTRL Fibres is the macramé and fibre art studio of Alison Pascoe, who trained in sculpture and textiles at the Alberta College of Art and Design in her native Calgary before settling in Belfast. She launched the business in 2016 and, in 2021, moved into her own studio at 412 Woodstock Road in East Belfast, having worked from shared spaces previously. Pascoe works in macramé, passementerie, braids and cords, and cane weaving, producing wall hangings, plant hangers and other knotted textile pieces alongside running small-group workshops that teach the same techniques to beginners. Sessions are kept deliberately small so each participant gets individual attention over the course of a class. The studio does not operate as a walk-in retail shop; visits and workshop places are arranged in advance. Pascoe has more than ten years' experience in traditional knotting techniques and is listed among Craft NI's registered makers.
