Catherine Butler and the designer Ahmed Sidki converted the Grade II listed eighteenth-century chapel on Bruton's High Street into an all-day restaurant in 2008, adding bedrooms a couple of years later; in August 2022 Butler sold to the Stay Original Company, a small independent West Country group of five or six sites that promised to keep the place more or less as it was — and has. Under the chapel's high ceiling run a wood-fired oven for the sourdough-base pizzas, a modern British and Mediterranean menu on West Country supply, an in-house bakery, a wine store and ten rooms upstairs. The town's front parlour, in what used to be its conscience.
