Cardiff Pottery Workshops Foundation runs a working ceramics studio on Inverness Place in Roath, led by potter Kelly Campbell, who holds a BA and MA in ceramics. What began as a single class taught with borrowed rolling pins and folding tables has grown into a community interest company offering throwing tasters, paint-your-own-pot sessions and multi-day masterclasses for all abilities. Alongside its teaching programme, the studio runs Re-Fire, a course developed with NHS staff at Hafan y Coed hospital in Llandough that uses clay work to support people living with depression and anxiety. Campbell works alongside studio manager James Lee, and income from classes is reinvested into the studio and its community work rather than taken as profit.
