Fourth and Church occupies a corner site on Church Road in Hove, opened in 2015 by Sam Pryor and Paul Morgan after careers cooking and managing restaurants abroad. The business combines a small restaurant, a wine bar and a retail wine shop under one roof, with a wall of bottles for sale alongside the tables. Small plates draw on Spanish, Levantine and southern European cooking, built to be shared and paired with the list rather than served as a conventional starter and main. The Sherry list is described as the largest on the south coast, running alongside wines from smaller producers in regions such as Jura and Savoie. Staff talk customers through unfamiliar bottles rather than pointing to a tasting-note card, and the retail side operates independently of table bookings.
