The building on Chester Street dates to around 1826 and has traded under several names, including the Prince of Denmark and the Chester Arms, before reopening as Gallaghers in 2010. The free house serves cask ales and craft beers in rooms decorated with military memorabilia and shipping images, with a retractable-roof garden.
