Birch Studio& Gallery

Birch Studio & Gallery occupies a building on Hamilton Square in Birkenhead, one of the largest collections of Grade I listed architecture outside London. Run by director Dan, it combines a street-facing exhibition space with shared studios at the rear where resident artists work and hold open sessions. The gallery runs a rolling programme of exhibitions by Merseyside-based painters, printmakers and photographers, alongside workshops and evening events, and has taken part in the Independents Biennial and appears in Liverpool's contemporary art listings on ArtRabbit and Art in Liverpool. Rather than a fixed commercial programme, its shows are organised around resident artists and visiting exhibitors, so opening times can shift around installs and private views. The gallery has no public retail website; visitors are directed to its Instagram and Facebook pages for current exhibitions and studio open days. It sits within walking distance of the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, giving Hamilton Square two contrasting art venues on the same square.
