Gower Coast Adventures has run wildlife boat trips from Oxwich Bay since 2003, skippered by owner Dave Tonge aboard the Sea Serpent, a 10.5-metre rigid-hulled inflatable powered by a 315-horsepower turbo diesel engine. The single-site operation departs from a booking cabin at the top of Oxwich beach, next to Oxwich Watersports, taking up to twelve passengers on two-hour trips along the limestone cliffs of the Gower coast between May and September. Trips are timed around the tides and typically pass Three Cliffs Bay, Oxwich Point and Worm's Head, with sightings of grey seals, dolphins and nesting sea birds reported depending on the season. Tonge narrates the wildlife and geology from the helm himself rather than delegating to a separate guide, and bookings are taken directly by phone or through the operator's own website.
