Lindsay Grieve Traditional Butchers has traded from 29 High Street in Hawick as a family-run butcher since 1988. Owner Lindsay Grieve built the shop's reputation on haggis, which has taken top prizes at national haggis-making competitions and is dispatched by mail order across the UK alongside pies, black pudding, and other traditional Scottish butchery prepared on the premises. The shop also caters hog roasts and butchery for weddings and local functions. It is one of several independent butchers still trading along Hawick's High Street, a street that has kept an unusually high concentration of family-run meat shops compared with other Borders towns, even as supermarkets have taken trade elsewhere. Lindsay Grieve opens Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm and Saturday mornings until 3.30pm, serving both passing trade and long-standing local customers.
