Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre occupies loch-side woodland beside Loch Lomond Shores at Balloch, at the southern tip of the loch. The family-run centre, with three generations involved in the day-to-day work, keeps close to forty birds of prey and owls, among them buzzards, hawks, eagles and vultures. It holds a full zoo licence and frames its work around education and conservation of native species. Two flying displays run each day, usually at 11.30am and 2pm and lasting around forty minutes, with keepers introducing individual birds as they fly across the arena. Visitors can also follow a discovery trail through the woodland or book a hands-on bird of prey experience. There is a small gift shop on site, plus bird sponsorship and membership options for regular visitors. No advance booking is needed for general entry.
