Ian Bradford, known locally as Brad the Brewer, founded Lymestone Brewery in 2008 at the former Bents Brewery site on Mount Road, Stone, a plant that had stood idle since Bass absorbed Bents decades earlier. His wife Viv and daughter Sarah joined soon after; Sarah now manages day-to-day operations. The ten-barrel plant produces cask and bottled ales, distributing most cask beer within fifty miles while sending bottles nationwide. Paid tours end with a tasting in the on-site tap room, and The Borehole, the brewery's own pub, stands alongside it. In 2025 the Society of Independent Brewers awarded Lymestone silver for overall champion and gold in the stout and porter category. Tours and the brewery shop are bookable directly through the brewery.
