Oriel Davies is a contemporary art gallery in Newtown's riverside park, run as an independent registered charity with revenue funding from the Arts Council of Wales. Its programme of changing exhibitions shows work by Welsh and international artists across painting, sculpture, film, ceramics and other media, with recent shows featuring makers such as Manon Awst and Gemma Green-Hope. A shop stocks design-led work by makers in ceramics, wood, jewellery and print, and the gallery runs a learning programme of workshops and activities for schools, families and community groups. Admission to the exhibitions is free. The gallery occupies a modern, light-filled building set in parkland close to the River Severn, a short walk from the town centre, and opens Tuesday to Saturday.
