Quinto Bookshop traces back to a shop opened on Charing Cross Road under owner Walter Kraut, taking over premises previously run by bookseller E. Joseph and becoming known for the queues that formed outside on changeover days when new stock went on the shelves. In 2010 Quinto merged with neighbouring antiquarian dealer Francis Edwards and moved to 72 Charing Cross Road, trading there until the pandemic forced its closure. After four years operating online only, Kraut reopened Quinto as a bricks-and-mortar shop on Leyton High Road in June 2024, explaining the move east by saying that is where things are happening now. The current shop specialises in second-hand and collectible books, with particularly strong sections on literature, music and photography, including runs of classic orange Penguin paperbacks. It sits next to Italian café Coccole on the same road.
