Shipley Glen Tramway opened on 18 May 1895, built by local publican and showman Sam Wilson to carry visitors up to the amusements once sited on Shipley Glen. Converted from gas to electric power in 1920, it is Britain's oldest working cable tramway and is run by volunteers for the charitable Shipley Glen Tramway Preservation Co Ltd under a lease from Bradford Council. The upper station on Prod Lane and lower station at Roberts Park operate Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 4pm.
