Stanton Hall Gardens & Nursery, west of Morpeth, began as a market garden growing soft fruit, vegetables and cut flowers for sale, before shifting toward summer bedding plants and, later, perennials, shrubs and trees as demand for pick-your-own produce declined. It remains a small family-run operation rather than a large garden centre chain, run day to day by Chris and Claire, who use the display gardens as a working source of seed and cuttings for the following year's stock. The grounds include a conservatory, a maze garden, a stock garden and a pond alongside the sales nursery, and the site is registered at Companies House as Stanton Hall Gardens and Nursery Ltd, with no other branches. Opening is seasonal, running through spring and summer, and the gardens also host weddings on request.
