The Star of Wales has served Cowbridge Road East since 1987, with the same family and the same head chef in the kitchen throughout. The dining room keeps a traditional layout, with a bar area where takeaway customers wait for orders rather than crowding the entrance. Every dish is cooked to order rather than held on a steam tray, from Punjabi-style karahi to milder korma, and the kitchen will adapt spice levels or make dishes not printed on the menu.
