The Galleon Bistro occupies a former restaurant site on Post Office Brae, just off Tobermory's Main Street, run by chef Martin Cahill and his wife Elaine. The couple took on the building during the Covid pandemic after years working abroad, including spells at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong and hotels in Dubai, and in Bermuda, where they met. Martin's cooking draws on that background alongside Scottish produce landed and grown nearby: langoustines, scallops and monkfish from local boats, west coast salmon, fillet steak and a changing beetroot starter. The Good Food Guide lists the bistro as a 'Local Gem'. Inside, the dining room seats a modest number of covers with views over Tobermory Bay. The couple run it as their first restaurant venture since returning to Scotland, and it operates as a single site with no other branches. Booking is recommended through the summer season when Mull's visitor numbers peak.
