The LittleSewing Works

Cynthia has run sewing and knitting classes from a room at Global Link on Dunleavy Drive, opposite the Cardiff Bay Private Hospital, since 2017. Groups meet weekly for mixed-ability sewing sessions, while one-to-one tuition covers dressmaking, curtains and Roman blinds for anyone wanting a more tailored pace. Beginners are shown how to thread a machine and cut a pattern before moving on to garment-making, and the studio keeps a stock of machines so students do not need to own one to start. Free parking outside and the number 9 bus route make the unit easy to reach despite its position away from the main shopping streets. The workshop's small scale means class sizes stay low, with Cynthia teaching most sessions herself rather than hired instructors.
