The Old Bakehouse is a craft bakery on Malmesbury High Street, mixing and baking bread on site every morning. The range covers tin loaves, country-style sourdough, pastries and rolls, made with a variety of flours across yeasted and naturally fermented doughs, alongside takeaway sandwiches assembled to order. It opens Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 2pm, and is closed Sundays. The shop sits on the same High Street as Malmesbury Abbey, in a town where independent food shops still outnumber chains. Sourdough and other naturally leavened breads are baked in small batches through the morning rather than all at once, so the exact range on the shelf shifts through the day and week depending on what has come out of the oven and what has already sold.
