Trading Post & Café sits on Hogshill Street in Beaminster, run by Robin and Shirley, who have kept the business trading under independent ownership for more than 25 years and reworked the menu around vegetarian and vegan cooking in 2018. Rob, a trained Master Baker, makes the gluten-free cakes himself, including a Dorset apple cake and a coffee and walnut version, while the bread on the breakfast plates comes from the Evershot bakery down the road. Alongside the food, Shirley sources vintage jewellery and brocante pieces sold from a corner of the same room. The café opens Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30am to 2:30pm with last orders at ten to two, and closes for the rest of the week.
