Bwyty Mawddach occupies a converted stone barn on the Dunn family's farm at Llanelltyd, two miles west of Dolgellau, with a dining room and terrace looking across the Mawddach estuary toward Cadair Idris. Brothers Ifan and Will Dunn opened it in 2007, Ifan having trained as a chef in Cardiff before returning to the family land; lamb comes off the farm and vegetables from the garden, with other meat and game bought from farmers nearby. The kitchen has since built its menu around wood-fired Neapolitan pizza alongside its Italian-influenced cooking, and the restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. Service runs across the later part of the week, with the pizzeria and takeaway operating evenings from Wednesday to Sunday. It stays an independent, single-site business tied to the working farm around it.
