Giacopazzi's is an ice cream parlour and chip shop on Harbour Road in Eyemouth, facing the fishing harbour. Lorenzo Giacopazzi, who left Borgo Val di Taro in northern Italy intending to travel on to America, settled in Eyemouth instead and started making ice cream around 1900. The business has stayed in the family since: Peter Giacopazzi, the fourth generation, and his nephew Somers, the fifth, now run production, making gelato and sorbet fresh on the premises across around eighteen flavours. Alongside the ice cream counter, the shop fries fish and chips in beef dripping and serves coffee, sundaes, and takeaway cones. Giacopazzi's has placed in national ice cream parlour award shortlists and is regularly cited in Scottish food press as one of the region's longest-running family food businesses. The parlour sits within the working harbour area, a short walk from the fish market and Eyemouth Museum.
