Moriath Glass is the home studio of Moira Williams, who has worked with kiln-formed glass at Nant, Cwmpengraig, near Drefach Felindre, since founding the business in 1992. Sheet glass is layered with glass powders and paints and built up over repeated firings in the kiln to produce freestanding panels, jewellery, bowls and sun-catchers, alongside bespoke commissions taken on request. The studio also stocks work in reclaimed Welsh slate by maker Aled Jenkins, including clocks, pendants and sculpted birds. Visits are by appointment only rather than on a walk-in basis, arranged directly by phone, and the studio is unheated so winter visits call for warm clothing. Williams trained in English literature at Aberystwyth before turning to glasswork.
