Old Chapel Gallery occupies a former Victorian chapel on East Street in Pembridge, bought and converted into exhibition space by Yasmin Strube, who opened the gallery in 1989 and has run it for 36 years. Strube trained as a knitter before moving into gallery curation, and the programme reflects that background with a recurring focus on textile and knitwear makers alongside ceramics, glass, sculpture, ironwork and wood turning. The gallery mounts six to seven exhibitions a year, each featuring a mix of established and emerging British makers, both regional and national, with work for sale including garden sculpture, jewellery and homeware as well as fine art and prints. Entry is free. The chapel building, with its high windows and open nave, is part of the gallery's identity in a village otherwise known for its black-and-white timber-framed houses. Pembridge sits between Kington and Leominster on the A44, and the gallery is one of the village's few dedicated art venues.
