The Perth Arms stands on the High Street in Dunkeld, close to the cathedral, and has been trading as a licensed house since 1795, making it the oldest continuously trading pub recorded in the town. It has been run by the same family for close to fifty years, currently under licensees Ewan and Karen Alcorn. CAMRA's Tayside branch lists it as an independent pub with a single, one-room bar serving a mix of locals and visitors; real ale arrived in 2012 and two handpumps typically carry Scottish beers, one from a local brewery. Food is served daily, with a steak night on Fridays and a carvery on Sundays. The building retains a real fire, a separate bar and restaurant area, a function room upstairs seating around thirty, and a small beer garden. It has no branches elsewhere and is not tied to a pub company, distinguishing it from the managed and leased houses more common on the same street.
