Olivier and Lynette Bossut took over The French Pantry on Tower Street in March 2020, returning Olivier to a kitchen where he had already worked as head chef between 2011 and 2017. He has cooked in Ludlow since 1998. The dining room seats a handful of tables down a narrow side street, serving classic French dishes without modern flourishes: steak, halibut, tarte and panna cotta sit alongside a changing blackboard menu. Reviewers describe the atmosphere as unmistakably Gallic, down to the wine list and unhurried pace of service. The restaurant opens Wednesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner only, closing Sunday to Tuesday. It has built a loyal following among Ludlow's food-town regulars, sitting quietly alongside the town's bigger-name dining rooms.
