Totterdown Canteen

Totterdown Canteen has operated as a café on the same stretch of Wells Road for more than fifty years, with the current family-run business trading under its present name since 2015. It serves traditional full English breakfasts alongside vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions, plus brunch dishes through the morning and early afternoon, and pours coffee supplied by Wogans Coffee Roasters. The café operates on a walk-in only basis without table reservations, a policy that has remained unchanged as it built a reputation among residents south of the river as a straightforward breakfast destination rather than a newer brunch-spot arrival. Its dining room and counter service style reflect its long run as a neighbourhood café, and it continues to be run independently by the same family rather than as part of any wider restaurant group.
