Chorlton Cheesemongers(Altrincham Market)

Chorlton Cheesemongers runs a satellite stall on Central Way at Altrincham Market, opened in summer 2024 as an outpost of its Wilbraham Road shop in Chorlton. The stall is overseen by Chris Hallam alongside cheesemaker Graham Kirkham, son of the Lancashire cheesemaker Ruth Kirkham, and stocks raw-milk and pasteurised cheeses from farms across Britain and Ireland alongside crackers and chutneys. Staff talk customers through provenance rather than simply weighing and wrapping, naming the farm and the maker behind each wheel. The business won Food & Drink Retailer of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival in 2022. Positioned beside the Lovingly Artisan bakery below the indoor market, the stall trades three days a week and takes online orders for collection on Fridays and Saturdays, alongside tasting events and cheesemaking days run from the Chorlton shop.
