Caroline Tattersall, Stephen Graham, and Robert Bree set up Community Clay Studio Manchester in 2016 on a pedestrian stretch of King Street in Stretford, registering it as a not-for-profit rather than a private studio. The space holds five electric kilns, eight teaching wheels, and ten further wheels reserved for members, plus benches for hand-building. Reclaimed clay and glaze materials get worked back into the studio's supply rather than thrown out. Weekly courses run alongside one-off workshops, private group sessions, and a family class, covering both wheel throwing and hand-building for beginners through to practising makers. Membership gives regular users their own wheel time and kiln access outside of class hours.
