Riverbank Coffee operates from a converted double shipping container on Newcroft Meadow Farm, reached only on foot, by bike or by paddleboard along the Trans Pennine Trail between Urmston and Sale. Farm owners Brian and Jackie Kilcourse opened the business in 2020 with lifelong friends Dane and Jennifer Smith, having started out serving drinks from a small coffee pod during lockdown. The cafe roasts a Colombian and Honduran arabica blend and bakes its own sausage rolls, sold alongside a changing range of sweet and savoury food from the riverside counter. Profits have gone toward local conservation work and school projects through a charity partnership. The site opens daily from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon, weather permitting given its riverside location.
