Frome Valley Vineyard was planted in the early 1990s, among the first vineyards established in Herefordshire, and has been run since 2005 by Jeanie and Ian Falconer with their wider family. The vineyard sits in a bend of the River Frome near Bishop's Frome, a village four miles south of Bromyard, and grows grapes for still and sparkling wines alongside cider, perry and a brandy distilled from its own fruit. The Falconers manage the vines by hand, pruning and harvesting without mechanisation, and use biomass heating, solar power and grazing sheep to manage the site rather than heavier machinery. Tours and tastings run through the growing season from April to October, taking visitors through the vineyard before a guided tasting of the range, with wine also sold directly from the vineyard. The business is a signatory to the WineGB sustainability scheme. Visits and wine collection outside the main season are by prior arrangement rather than casual drop-in.
