Gallery 6

Gallery 6 is a small independent gallery and bookshop at 6 Victoria Road in Scarborough, run by Leslie Stones and open three afternoons a week, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The shop stocks books on art and local history alongside changing displays of work by Scarborough-based artists, including painters, photographers and textile makers such as Elena Tradewell, whose brooches and bookmarks have featured in past shows. The gallery also hosts occasional evening events under the Gallery 6 Night banner, showcasing local writers and musicians in a small performance space at the back of the shop. It operates independently of the larger council-run Scarborough Art Gallery and Museums service nearby, with its own programme of exhibitions and events set by its owner. Entry to exhibitions is free.
