Hugh Fitz-Baldric is a single-room micropub converted from a former shop on Hallgate, Cottingham's main street, with a small bar and quiet corners for sitting. It takes its name from a historical figure tied to the village's medieval past. The pub keeps no permanent beers, instead rotating six cask ales at a time from breweries such as North Riding, Pheasantry and Thornbridge, alongside a short wine and soft drinks list. Doors open from early-to-mid afternoon into the evening, staying open latest on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The pub won the Hull and East Yorkshire CAMRA branch's Village Pub of the Year award in both 2023 and 2024.
