Founders James and Lizzie Armitage started the business in 2009 after buying a Vespa tuk-tuk and fitting an espresso machine to the back of it, selling coffee on Magdalen Bridge before setting up a roastery in a barn in Jericho. The company now roasts at the Oxford Eco Centre on Osney Mead, where the café serves espresso alongside toasties and cakes, with indoor and outdoor seating and a children's play area. A separate espresso bar operates on Oxford's High Street. Jericho Coffee Traders is an official coffee partner to the Royal Albert Hall and runs its own coffee school for people wanting to learn roasting and brewing. Deliveries around Oxford go out by cargo bike or electric van.
