Mags' Pottery

Mags' Pottery is a small independent ceramics studio on Upper Road in Kennington, just south of Oxford, run by its founder, known to students simply as Mags. Teaching is wheel-based and mostly one-to-one, running from single taster sessions through six-week beginner courses to intermediate and advanced tuition for those making larger bowls, vases and teapots. Past students can book independent studio time to continue working once they have completed a course. Alongside teaching, the studio produces a range of handmade stoneware, including mugs, bowls and jugs, sold directly from the workshop and through an online shop. It operates from this single Kennington site rather than a wider network of studios, and has built a strong local reputation largely through word of mouth and repeat pupils.
