Dominic and Daniella Boyett founded UE Coffee Roasters in 2009 with the aim of becoming Oxfordshire's first speciality coffee roaster. The roastery on the Windrush Industrial Park in Witney now imports beans directly from 58 farms, roasting Monday to Friday behind a glass wall visible from the adjoining café. Volume has grown from five tonnes a year to around one hundred. The café seats 120 people indoors and a further hundred on a covered outdoor terrace, serving a seasonal brunch menu alongside pour-overs, espresso and a retail wall said to hold the largest range of speciality coffee and home-brewing equipment in the county. Staff run cupping sessions and quality-control visits to growers every six weeks. The business remains independently owned, trading from the same industrial unit where it began roasting in 2012.
