Kirkcaldy Garden Centre began in 1992 as a small nursery on former farmland on Thornton Road at the edge of Kirkcaldy. Ownership changed in 2007 and the new owners expanded the site considerably, building it into what is marketed as Fife's fastest-growing independent garden centre, registered as Kirkcaldy Garden Centre Limited, company number SC200213. Alongside bedding plants, shrubs and trees, the centre sells sheds, water features, solid oak indoor furniture and gardening sundries, with a children's play area and wheelchair access throughout. The Orchard Coffee Shop on site serves homemade scones, cakes and hot drinks to customers taking a break from browsing. A local delivery service covers larger purchases such as furniture and sheds, and the centre issues Horticultural Trades Association gift vouchers. It remains independently owned rather than folded into one of the national garden centre groups that have bought up many similar sites across Scotland in recent years. Open daily, 9am to 5.30pm, all year round.
