London ClayPottery Studio

London Clay occupies a unit inside the Brockley Cross Business Centre on Endwell Road, opened by Ian Burgess after he took an intensive pottery course in 2018 and began building studio space at home using skills picked up from years in set construction. His own practice centres on moon jars, a form he took up after seeing the work of Korean potter Lee Kang-Hyo. The studio now runs alongside that practice as a working space for others: monthly memberships require a minimum two-month commitment, and newcomers can join six-week evening courses or weekend day classes covering wheel-throwing and hand-building. Membership access assumes some prior experience, since potters work independently once inducted rather than under constant supervision.
