Mallaig Heritage Centre sits alongside Mallaig railway station and tells the story of West Lochaber, its people and landscape, including the district known in Gaelic as An Garbh Chriochan, the Rough Bounds, between Loch Hourn and Loch Sunart. Displays, films and collections cover fishing, the Mallaig railway, steamers and ferries, the lifeboat, the Great War and the artist Jon Schueler. For 2026, Rob Fairley returns with portraits drawn around Mallaig Pier.
