Stardust BoatTrips

Stardust Boat Trips runs wildlife cruises from Portree Harbour, sailing into Portree Bay, the Sound of Raasay and the wider coastline of Skye and Raasay. The operator runs a small fleet including the catamarans Stardust II and Wavedancer and the monohulls Saorsa na Mara and Sùil na Mara, offering trips ranging from two-hour sea eagle and wildlife cruises to a longer whale-watching run out to the Isle of Rona. Skippers look for white-tailed sea eagles, seals, otters and porpoises, with minke whales and dolphins possible on the longer trips, alongside views of the Cuillin and the Trotternish coastline. Trips depart daily through the main season, weather permitting, and the company recommends booking ahead in summer. As a single-harbour operator running its own boats out of Portree, it is one of several independent skippers working the bay rather than part of a national tour operator.
