Café Cùil is a brunch and lunch café at Satran, near Carbost, run by chef Clare Coghill, who first opened the business in Hackney in 2019 and relocated it to Skye, where she grew up, in 2022. Housed in a red-painted building with large windows looking over Loch Harport towards the Cuillin, it serves specialty coffee and a changing Hebridean-influenced menu built on local and seasonal produce, from veggie haggis to Skye crab with kimchi and scrambled eggs. Coghill, whose family runs the nearby Sligachan Hotel, emphasises sustainability and local employment, with most of the team living on the island, and the café has hosted occasional supper clubs with visiting kitchens. It opens Wednesday to Sunday through the season, generally from mid-morning to late afternoon, and has become a regular stop for walkers and visitors around Carbost and Talisker.
