The Studio is an art gallery and gift shop on Innes Street in Plockton, in a building dating to 1860 that was constructed as a residence by Alexander Matheson before later use as a dental surgery and a primary school. Painter Anthony Cain later established a gallery in the building, using it as his studio and shopfront until relocating to Wales in 1988. Under its current owners, the gallery continues to sell original paintings and limited and open-edition prints, alongside crafts and gifts made in Scotland and the wider UK, with a focus on Highland and Scottish artists. Stock includes framed and unframed artwork, ceramics, textiles and smaller gift items suited to visitors passing through the village on the West Highland railway line or touring Lochalsh and Skye by road. The business is independently run, with no other branches, and remains one of Plockton's dedicated gallery spaces on the waterfront side of the village.
