Surveyed
Built in 1914 as a cine-variety hall, this New Market Street theatre was bought by three local operatic societies in 1978 and restored over nine years by volunteers. It now stages two in-house productions a year plus visiting drama, dance and youth theatre groups, run entirely by unpaid volunteers as one of Britain's few amateur-owned theatres.
