Pottertons Nursery

Pottertons Nursery has grown alpines, dwarf bulbs and woodland plants on Moortown Road at Nettleton, just south of Caistor, since 1971. The family-run nursery specialises in rare and choice plants raised on site, among them snowdrops, dwarf conifers, hardy cyclamen and woodland perennials, many sold by mail order and shown at plant fairs across the country. Its raised beds and alpine houses have earned seven Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show gold medals, alongside a gold at the 2025 Lincolnshire Show. Visitors can walk the growing beds and buy directly from the nursery, with staff offering propagation and cultivation advice for trickier specimens. The nursery opens Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm from March to October, holds advertised open days, and takes appointments through the winter months. Postal orders run for much of the year.
