Rachel and Chris converted a barn at Glebe Farm into The Cow Shed in 2023, the first of what has become a small group of self-contained stays known as Rutland Hideaways, close to the Lincolnshire-Rutland border near Stamford. Fallow Lodge and Kite Lodge followed, each sleeping up to six guests with a wood-fired hot tub, and Pheasant Lodge added a private sauna in a woodland setting. Every property is dog-friendly and let on a self-catering basis rather than serviced like a hotel. South Kesteven District Council has approved plans for two further two-bedroom lodges, each with its own sauna and hot tub, with the first due to open in 2026. The business was nominated for a start-up award at the Rutland and Stamford Mercury Business Awards after early seasons drew repeat bookings from guests travelling from both northern and southern England.
