The Consortium occupies a small courtyard unit off Cornmarket in Louth, fifty yards from the Market Place, and pours beer and gin brewed by its own Consortium Brewing Company, set up in 2016 on a nearby industrial estate. The bar typically keeps six cask ales on at a time alongside a shelf of the venue's own gins, rather than a fixed core range bought in from elsewhere. On Louth market days the operators also run a stall nearby selling bottled ales, ciders, lagers and gin to take away. Opening hours are shorter than a standard pub, running from early afternoon on weekdays and from midday at weekends, in keeping with the one-room micropub format. The pub is run as an independent operation, with beer and spirit supply controlled entirely by its own in-house brewery rather than a pub company.
