Bourne Bookshop

Bourne Bookshop occupies a shopfront at 19 North Street, opened by Karen Smith in September 2019 as the market town's first dedicated bookshop in several years. Smith came to bookselling after a career spent largely in the travel and agriculture sectors, making the shop her first venture into the book trade. The shelves cover fiction and non-fiction for children and adults, alongside jigsaws, toys and greetings cards, and the shop takes special orders for titles it does not hold in stock. It is registered as Bourne Bookshop Limited and trades through the local high street rather than a warehouse or online-only model, keeping the ordering and browsing experience centred on the North Street premises. The shop takes part in Independent Bookshop Week and related trade promotions each year.
