Sneaky Pete's

Sneaky Pete's has run as an independent live music venue and club at 73 Cowgate since 2008, opened by promoter Nick Stewart and incorporated that year as Sneaky Pete's Limited (Companies House SC343949). The single-room, 100-capacity basement space hosts roughly 250 gigs a year alongside late-night club sessions, and hosted early performances from acts including Young Fathers and Lewis Capaldi before they built wider audiences. Its size and programming have drawn recognition within the UK grassroots music circuit, including a Music Week grassroots venue award. The venue works as both a gig space, with earlier evening doors, and a nightclub running past midnight on weekends and later around August and the winter holidays. It remains privately run rather than part of a chain of clubs, a short walk from the Grassmarket on Cowgate.
