Sojo Bistro opened on York Road in Acomb in 2024, founded by sisters Sophie and Josephine after years spent wanting to bring good food and drink to the suburb where they grew up. The neighbourhood bistro serves breakfast and lunch alongside sharing boards, wine and handcrafted cocktails, with fresh bakes made on site. Beyond the daily menu, the sisters use the space for occasional events, including a terrarium-making workshop run with a local plant seller. The bistro sits on the number 1 and 1A bus route into York city centre and keeps cycle racks out front for local trade. It opens Wednesday to Saturday from half past nine in the morning until eleven at night, and on Sundays from ten until four, staying closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
